The position is with a tier 1 automotive parts supplier located in SW Ontario. They have an immediate requirement for a CNC Programmer. You will report to New Model Engineering Manager. The primary function of this position is to assist the die maintenance department with the total productive maintenance of all stamping dies, transfer fingers, chutes and press bolsters. This will be done through the use of the CNC Milling Machine. The majority of your time will be spent programming with MasterCAM (60% +) with the remaining focusing on Operator and other maintenance duties as required.

Responsibilities

  • Program, setup and operate the CNC Milling Machine
  • Preventative maintenance and repair of dies, transfer fingers, scrap chutes and fastening systems
  • The ability to operate all equipment within the stamping department and provide maintenance support
  • Accurate updating and preparation of die quality, design & maintenance records
  • Generate continuous improvement ideas for process quality and better maintainability
  • Generate machine & fabrication for the site
  • Continuously improving process through part accuracy and stamping reliability
  • Work at a highly detailed level from engineering drawings of our products and equipment
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Qualification

  • 1-3 years practical experience programming and operating CNC Milling Machines
  • Proficient user of MasterCAM X5, X6 OR, X7
  • Certificate of qualification in Tool & Die or General Machinist
  • Through understanding of general machining and fabrication principles
  • Practical experience with Mig, Tig and Arc welding
  • Familiarity with hand & shop tools such as drills, lathes, saws, mills etc.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent interpersonal and communications skills
